Darragh was reared in the heart of the Garden of Ireland so gardening, for Darragh, was
second nature.

From the age of 10, Darragh’s grandparents encouraged his love of gardening by handing him a garden trowel and since then it has barely left his hands. Darragh helped them in growing strawberries, potatoes, salad crops and generally helped out in their garden during school holidays and time off.

Darragh’s parents owned and ran a successful florist’s and in his teenage years, he spent a lot of time there learning colour palettes and attention to detail. On leaving school, Darragh studied in Writtle Horticultural College – one of the top horticultural colleges in the UK. He then went on to travel extensively and gained a wealth of knowledge working in several aspects of landscaping and horticulture from golf course construction in Germany to fine gardening in the UK.

Darragh now owns and operates Darragh Connolly Garden Care. They specialise in Garden Interventions and implementing Garden Health and Garden Care programmes. Their motto is – ‘Where Excellence Meets Expertise’.

Darragh is a member of ALCI (Association of Landscape Contractors of Ireland) and ISME. He also features in Horticulture Connected, Newstalk radio gardening slots and Best in Ireland.

Darragh is also a family man. Married to Nicole and have 3 children. Sam 18, Freddie 16 and Rose 14. Darragh knows what it’s like to have trades working in his home so he will carry out work like he would want the work carried out by showing up on time and getting the job done, and leaving the garden clean and tidy and good as new.
